What This Site
Collects

Short version: your answers never leave your browser. Aggregate page and event counts do, and only if analytics has been switched on.

The tools

The self-assessment, the ninety-second score, the Ottawa waste checker and the move-in checklist all run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted, stored on a server, or seen by anyone. Close the tab and it is gone. There is no account, no email gate, and no way for us to recover what you entered even if you asked.

What happens to what you type
ToolWhere your input goes
Full self-assessmentStays in browser memory. Print and JSON export are generated locally on your device.
Ninety-second scoreStays in browser memory.
Ottawa waste checkerStays in browser memory, including the one research question.
Move-in checklistStays in browser memory. The printed checklist is generated on your device.
Audit enquiryOpens a draft in your own email program. Nothing is sent until you press send, and it goes directly to us — not through this site.

Analytics

To know whether any of this is useful, the site may count page views and a small number of named events. Where analytics is enabled it is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites, and no personal information is collected. That is why you will not find a cookie banner here.

The only events recorded
EventWhat it records
short_score_completedThat someone finished the five-question score. Not the answers, not the band.
assessment_openedThat the full assessment was opened, and whether it came from the short score or directly.
assessment_completedThat someone reached the results screen. Not the score.
waste_check_completedThat the Ottawa checker returned a result. Not the building details.
checklist_generatedThat a move-in checklist was generated. Not the date or the city.
audit_enquiry_startedThat someone opened an audit enquiry draft.
Why we say which events exist

A site built on the argument that people deserve to be told things should tell people things. The complete list is above; there is nothing else.

Third parties

Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which means Google receives a request from your browser when a page loads. Nothing else on this site loads from a third party — no advertising, no tracking pixels, no social embeds, no chat widgets, no session recording.

If you contact us

An audit enquiry arrives as an ordinary email at hello@buildingthreshold.com and is kept only as long as needed to answer it and, if you engage us, to deliver the work. It is never sold, shared or added to a marketing list. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Audit engagements

When CIONAOD Inc. conducts a verified audit, we ask for building documents and — where available — a resident inquiry log. We ask that inquiry logs be supplied de-identified, and we do not request resident personal information at any point. Findings are confidential to the client, and no building is ever identified in any published aggregate without written consent.

Changes

This page carries the same verification discipline as everything else here. Last reviewed 9 August 2026. If it changes materially, it goes in the change log like anything else.
